ACTORS WEEKLY WORKOUT
Acting is the only creative pursuit you cannot practice alone. When your job entails LISTENING, and CONNECTING with other people, practice is essential. Actors Weekly Workout is an On-camera drop in class for professional actors or actors intending to go professional. If you want to build a muscle and make it strong, you must exercise it regularly. Think of it like going to the gym…for your craft.

Have a busy schedule and don't know your availability from week to week? Wondering why you aren't booking more? Just want to explore the business? Can't afford a big financial commitment? Want something FUN and LOW STRESS to look forward to every week? Just want to make more friends? Join us! Whatever your training method, whatever your level of experience, you have something to gain and something to contribute to this class. Even non-actors are welcomed to join in and learn listening, communicating and connecting skills that can put be put to use in everyday life.
Here is some of what we practice each week:
Warm up, our instruments, improv, acting exercises, acting games and technique, creativity expanding exercises, scene study, co-star technique, audition technique, on-camera skills and technique, self-love practice, tips for the business side of acting.
IN-PERSON CLASSES: All performances will be taped and watched during class. Watching your performances are essential if you intend to pursue a career in front of the camera. This is a visual medium. Plus the camera will be your best teacher.
ONLINE CLASSES: Online classes are NOT recorded, however, if students wish to record their performances, they can request to record before they perform and view their performances after class.
TUITION - Ongoing classes that are AFFORDABLE, accessible and FUN!
ONLINE CLASSES are Tuesday evenings starting at 7pm via ZOOM. $30 per class or 4/$100.
IN-PERSON CLASSES are held Thursday evenings beginning at 7pm. In-person classes are $40 per class or 4/$150. No refunds, but you can use credits from unattended classes towards future events, if you cancel at least four hours before class begins. Length of class is determined by number of students that attend that class.
KIDS CLASSES: Children who are professional, working actors are welcomed in the regular Tuesday and Thursday classes, however if you are interested in a kids-only class, please send me an email.
Facilitating Weekly Workout is Kristi Swensson-Burdsall. She has worked as a professional actress in the Bay Area and Los Angeles since 1994, and was in the TV show "Torchwood" on STARZ, as well as in the shows "I (Almost) Got Away With it", "Wives with Knives" and "Love Kills" on the Investigation Discovery Channel. Kristi has been in two award-winning short films, “Cull” and “Offsprung.” She works steadily in independent film and voiceover and is the voice of global travel corporation, BCD Travel. Kristi studied drama at San Diego State and San Jose State Universities, and has studied several techniques, including Meisner, Stanislavsky, Chubbuck and others. Kristi has studied with Kate McGregor Stewart since 2015.
Kristi is a wife and mother to three wonderful humans (and three furry babies), and in 2016 founded The Bay to LA Actors Network, an organization that helps Bay Area actors expand into the LA market through workshops and classes with LA-based casting directors and industry professionals (www.baytolaactorsnetwork.com).
